Obituary of Mildred Louise Pierce

Mildred L. Pierce, 91, of Leesburg, FL, formerly of Ocala, FL passed away on Friday, February 4, 2011 in Leesburg. Born on May 5, 1919 in Salina, PA, daughter of the late Roy O. and Flora M. (Carothers) Shaffer, she moved to Ocala in 1989 from Chelmsford, MA. She was a registered nurse, a piano teacher and a realtor for many years. Mildred was a member of the Ocala West United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her brother Clifton Shaffer. Mildred is survived by her Loving Husband of 67 years, James B. Pierce, Leesburg, FL; Nephew Mark Shaffer, Freemont, CA; and many dear friends. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala followed by a Funeral Service on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services with Dr. John Few officiating.
