Obituary of Robert Lee Edwards

Robert (Bob) L. Edwards 80, passed away unexpectedly at home on February 9, 2011. Born February 20, 1930, in Glasgow, VA, to John and Daisy Belle Edwards, Bob was the youngest of seven children. He moved to Belleview, FL, in 1946 and graduated from Ocala High School in 1948. He was an US Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1951 to 1953. Bob was a self-employed businessman in Ocala for many years as well as a successful cattle rancher for over 40 years. He also loved vegetable gardening, especially giving away the abundant produce to his friends. He was a member of the VFW, the Florida Cattleman's Assoc., the Elks Club, and a devout member of the Central Church of Christ, Ocala, FL. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Jeanette of Ocala, FL; sister, Ollie Huff of Charlotte, NC; beloved wife's sister & her husband, Sarah & Bill Fischer of Tarpon Springs, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews; grand nieces; and grand nephews. Visitation will be Friday 5-7PM at HIERS-BAXLEY FUNERAL SERVICES, 352-629-7171. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 12, 2011 10AM at Central Church of Christ, 4200 E.
