Obituary of Cleve Dixon Oliver

THE VILLAGES — Cleve D. Oliver, 78, died Sunday, March 6, 2011. Mr. Oliver was born in Punxsutawney, Pa., and moved to The Villages from Panama City, Panama, in 2001. He was a retired schoolteacher and coach; a Protestant; member of Tri-City Baptist Church, Lady Lake; an Army veteran; hobbies were tennis, golf, basketball, volleyball and reading. Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice; son, Troy, Yokota Air Base, Japan; daughters April Smith, Colorado Springs, Colo., Misty Barker, Leesburg, Heidi Davis, Bradenton, Melody Oliver, Murfreesboro, Tenn., Christy Llanus, Ridgefield, Conn.; sisters Virginia Scaggs, Niles, Ohio, Janet Nicholson, Findley Lake, N.Y.; and 17 grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Tri-County Baptist Church. A committal service will follow at a later date in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell Memorial contributions may be made to Tri-County Baptist Church, Lady Lake.
