My extreme sadness is added to Pat's, the family and the multitude of people touched by the rare gift this man, Henry Santulli (Hank), shared with all who knew him and especially those who worked in education with him at ESM. He was a strong mentor to me after hiring me to lead the School-to-Work program in the district, believing in me, encouraging me and gently advising me when needed.....all gifts he used to bring out the best in his staff and students throughout his many years of service. I'm sorry that his retirement was not as fulfilling as he may have wished, but it sounds as if he made the best of those years with the strong support of his best friend and wife, Pat. Have no doubt - his spirit lives on in all the lives he touched and with the angels of our God.

Mr. Santulli was my guidance counselor at ESM many years ago, and was principal at the HS when my kids went there during the 80's & early 90's. He was certainly dedicated to the field of education, and we were all luck that he chose to work in the ESM district. Our whole family extends sincere sympathy to the Santulli Family. May your many happy memories of times with Henry help you through this sad time. Brenda Hamilton ESM class of 1969

I realize that I echo the very same sediments as everyone else, simply saddened after reading the loss of Mr. Santulli. I knew Mr. Santulli as a very caring, generous and loving man who took pride in seeing others succeed.
I remember the cameo role he played in the March '87 ES-M production of The Music Man, the simple hello's he gave everyone and his smile. Mr. Santulli was a tremendous asset to the community that surrounded ES-M. He was what I strive to be each and every day.
My thoughts and prayers go to the Santulli family with hopes that their memories will give them the strength to carry on during this challenging time.
Thank you Mr. Santulli for being the wonderful person you were. Your candle will forever shine...

Mr. Santulli was a world class educator. He was so genial and concerned with us kids, yet he still had a firm vision of what education should be. I didn't know of his kidney problems, and I can relate - as I too am now on dialysis and waiting for a kidney transplant. My thoughts are with his family, and it was an honor to know and be educated by the man.

RIP Mr. Santulli, you will be greatly missed. Your passing is a terrible loss for the Santulli family, and also the world.
We are lucky that you were able to touch so many lives with his position at ES-M. I remember you always calm and smiling, always patient and considerate with your students and your own children alike, always interested and interesting.
While we certainly appreciated you as our Principal back then, we appreciate you all the more now that we have our own children, with their own Principals and Administrators that we gauge against your formidable metric.
Many thoughts and blessings go out to Mark, Tracy and Pat. Thinking of you and sharing in the tiniest sliver of your loss today.

To The Family - Sorry for the Loss of "Mr. Santulli" for he was a gift to thousands that he helped to support throughout his years in education and through his volunteer time to the foundation. His struggles provided an inspiration to many and it's obvious that his love of family provided a strong foundation to his success (and yours too Pat). It's always an honor to know someone who made the most of life. Aside form his work, the one thing I always remembered thinking was; "Man how does he keep that tan" LOL
God bless to you "Mr. Santulli" and to your family for you were quite an inspiration.

As Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote,"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friend; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Sounds like Mr. S. was a true success. He certainly made the world a better place and many of us have brethed easier because he cared.

To the Santulli family: I know that many people have shared how Henry affected them, and I add my name to the list. As my guidance counselor, he gained my confidence and when I shared with him about a horrible home situation, he acted at a critical time to help me into a safer situation. It has made ALL the difference in my life, and I have often thought of him and about how one caring and invested adult who truly listens and has the courage to act can turn around the life of a vulnerable child. I regret not reaching out sooner to tell him myself, but I hope that hearing this from me helps to wrap your family in some additional warmth at this difficult time for all of you. His spirit truly lives on in the lives of those whom he has touched--I am now a family therapist who has helped many vulnerable children and many parents striving to become the safe haven their children deserve. What a beautiful soul he shared with the rest of us. Peace be with you. --Kim Sumner-Mayer, ESM Class of '86, PhD, LMFT

I was shocked to hear someone say that they had heard of Hank's passing. I was more shocked to find that it was true. Knowing of the difficult times he has had of late may you all be comforted by the fact that he is in a better place now. I understand that all the fairways are straight in heaven and I am confident he hitting the long ball. May your memories of all the good times help you through this very difficult period.
