Obituary of John DeLaFuente

DeLaFuente, John John DeLaFuente age 76 of Ocala, died March 12, 2011. John was born on February 7, 1935 in Galveston, Texas to Issak and Prejedes DeLaFuente. Before moving to Ocala 7 years ago John resided in Texas. He was a 'Special Procedure' Radiologist for 47 years with Methodist Hospital in Houston. He was on the team of professionals that were responsible for pioneering the 'artificial heart'. John had lived an accomplished and fascinating life, that included serving as an officer in the Coast Guard. He is survived by his beloved Jolene, wife of 32 years. His two sons, Richard of Houston, TX; Thomas and wife Sherry of Pasadena, TX; One daughter, Diane Cook of Pasadena, TX; A sister, Nora; And one brother, Chano; Two nephews, Lewis and David; And niece, Pauline; 12 Grandchildren including Crystal and Sabrina Sierens; and 3 Great-Grandchildren. Also, he leaves dog Sparky. John was preceded in death by Mom and Dad; One brother, Gilbert; A sister-in-law, Arlene. And his special pet dog, Tiney. A visitation for John is scheduled from 5 - 7:00 p.m., on Monday, March 21. A funeral service will be 11:00 - Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Both will be at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala. Interment will immediately follow in procession to Highland Memorial Park in Ocala.
