Obituary of Willie Tanner

Willie "Doug" Tanner, 86, of Bell, passed away March 12, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Gainesville. Born in Sandersville, GA he moved to Bell in 1975 from Hague, FL. He was a member of Hardeetown Baptist Church and served his country in the US Army. He was a truck driver and a minister, and enjoyed working in his yard. He was most proud of and was very dedicated to his family. He is survived by his two daughters Gwen Rippy of Newberry and Rosemarie Roberson of Bell, sister, Martha Ann Turner and brother, Lamar Tanner, both of GA, 4 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Edna H. Tanner in Aug. of 2010. Graveside funeral services will be at Hardeetown Methodist Cemetery, Thursday March 17, 2011 at 4:30 with visitation from 2-4 at the funeral home.
