Obituary of Harvey Leo Dickey

Harvey L. Dickey, Sr., age 72, of Ocala, FL passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2011. He was born in Erie, PA on September 3, 1938. He joined the US Army and served 3 years. After his military service he returned to Erie, PA where he lived until his retirement in 2003 at which time he moved to Ocala, FL. His hobbies included golfing, watching and coaching youth softball, bowling and NASCAR. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Ocala, FL. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Gladys E. Dickey of Ocala, FL to whom he was devoted and cherished; son Harvey L. "Butch" Dickey, Jr. of Margate, FL; son Philip Dickey of N. Miami, FL; son Spencer Dickey of Peoria, IL; daughter Beth Vasile and her husband Alex of Erie, PA; daughter Brena Callithen of Valencia, PA; grandchildren Brittany Ann Vasile, Heath Callithen and Hal Callithen; great grandchildren Hal James Callithen and Ryland Riedel. A funeral service with military honors will be held at First Freewill Baptist Church, 2210 NE 24th St, Ocala, FL on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 3pm. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 2pm until the time of the service at 3pm. Cremation will follow with inurnment at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
