Obituary of Melvin Harold Purdy
Ocala - Melvin Harold Purdy, 86, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Estelle's Hospice House. Born in Peekskill, NY, he moved to Ocala in 1952. During his life he worked as a master carpenter. A veteran of World War II, he served in the United States Army Corp of Engineers in the Pacific Theatre. He is survived by his wife Maude Purdy of Ocala; son Ronald Purdy of Ocala; daughter Barbara Ann Lemire of Ocala; granddaughter Davette Myers of Tallahassee; grandson Ronnie N. Purdy of Tavares; great-grandson Schuyler Sewell Purdy of Richmond, VA; and great-granddaughter Jessica Lauren Myers of Tallahassee. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Marion County, P.O. Box 4860 Ocala, FL 34474. Arrangements are under the care of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services - Ocala Chapel.
