Obituary of Stewart W. Pendleton
Stewart W. Pendleton, Jr. Ocala, 90, passed away on April 6, 2011. He was born April 16, 1920 in Jacksonville, FL and grew up in Tampa. He joined the U.S. Navy and retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer; having served in the Korean Conflict and World War II aboard the USS Leyte and the USS Coral Sea. He then worked at Kennedy Space Center with computers. Stewart served as a volunteer at the Veterans Hospital in Gainesville for 17 years. He was a member of the Delbert D. Black Branch 117 of the Fleet Reserve in Kissimmee. He enjoyed traveling, camping with his family, attending Navy reunions and making furniture. He is survived by his Loving wife of 52 years, Audrey: his son Harry A. Pendleton, Orlando; sister Margaret Barlan, Palm Coast and brother Theodore Petrovits, Astor . A visitation will be held on Monday, April 11, 2011 from 11:30AM to 1:30PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, TimberRidge Chapel, 9695SW 110th Street, Ocala, at which time the funeral procession will leave for the Florida National Cemetery where a 2:30PM Committal Service will be held with full Navy honors.
