Obituary of Barbara Gail Niamat

Barbara Niamat (Mrs.) passed away April 13, 2011, at Ocala Regional Medical Center, Ocala, Florida. Barbara was born February 28, 1946 in Meridian, MS to Tracy and Evelyn Puckett. Barbara was a beloved wife, sister, and daughter always ready to care for her family. She lived a very full life in many countries around the world. She worked at Newton County Bank, the FBI in Washington DC, and with Diamond M Oil in Houston, TX. She was a star athlete and avid golfer having won many women's golf tournaments. She was a member of College Road Baptist Church in Ocala, Florida serving as clerk, video screen operator for morning service, and interim secretary. Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Samos Niamat of Ocala, FL; her mother, Evelyn Rhodes Puckett of Chunky, MS; sisters, Diann (Jim) Gallaspy of Seymour, TN, Sandra (Bill) Gressett of Chunky, MS, Sharon Monroe of Dalewood, MS, and Regina (Brandon) Herd of Florence, MS; granddaughter, Samantha Niamath of Baltimore, MD; nephews, Scott Gressett, Anthony Gressett, Matt Gallaspy, Tra Monroe, and Adam Herd; nieces, Misti Harris, Anna Herd and Aimee Herd; and four great nephews, and nieces and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Tracy Puckett and grandparents, Tom and Annie Rhodes, and Harvey and Elizabeth Puckett. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 17, 2011 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at HIERS-BAXLEY FUNERAL SERVICES 352-629-7171. Interment will be in Blue Springs Cemetery, Chunky, MS. Memorials may be given to College Road Baptist Church, Ocala, FL.
