Obituary of Donald Doyle Jackson

Donald Doyle Jackson passed away on April 16, 2011 with his family at his side. His family fulfilled his dying wish, to see his daughter get married, by his bedside hours before he passed. This dedication to him is evidence of the legacy that Don leaves behind. Don was a true family man who was known to take vacation time from work to do projects at his children's homes. He enjoyed grilling, playing horseshoes, and family gatherings. He had recently enjoyed several fishing afternoons and a hunting trip with his sons. Don was born to Elmer & Anne Jackson on November 19, 1938 in Utica, New York. He was raised and lived in Waterville, New York prior to moving to Ocala in 1979. Don is survived by his truly devoted wife of 47 years, Sandy; his daughter Jennifer & her husband Jerry Schad; his son Sean & his wife Kendrea; and, his son James & his wife Dawn Marie, all of Ocala. His favorite job was Papa to six grandsons - Michael, Ryan, Cody, Carter, Campbell, and Collier, all of Ocala. He is also survived by his sister Joan and her husband Stanley Krawiec of Chesapeake, VA and his sister Marilyn Seeber of Virginia Beach, VA. Don's brother Roderick Jackson and Paul Jackson predeceased him. There are also several extended family members and friends that will grieve for his loss. Viewing will be at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, 910 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala on Tuesday April 19, 2011 from 4pm to 7pm. Mass services for the funeral will be held at Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church on Wednesday April 20, 2011 at 11am. Graveside services immediately following Mass.
