Obituary of Evelyn Harriet Schaler

Evelyn Schaler Passed away 4/16/2011. Born 12/20/1928 to Joseph and Maude Burgess in Salem S.C. Children Michael of Munroe Falls, Ohio, Patricia Fey of Avon, Indiana, Susan Little (Stephen) of Lexington, Kentucky, and Nancy Grathwohl (Christopher) of Cincinnati, Ohio. Nine grandchildren. One great granddaughter. Sisters Blanche Hanna, Olene Towe (Deceased), Gerone Carnes, Mildred Cantrell, and Hilda Cooper (Duncan). Brothers James, Warren, and Broadus Burgess (All Deceased). Evelyn was the loving and devoted wife of Bernard Schaler. A graduate of Indiana University, she taught school in Indianapolis until becoming a full time mother and homemaker. Bernard and Evelyn moved to Summerfield, Florida from Indianapolis in 1993. She enjoyed line dancing, exercise class, walking, and pinochle. She attended St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church in Summerfield, where a memorial mass will be held at 10am Tuesday April 19th, 2011. Calling hours are 8am to 9:30am prior to the service at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd. in the Villages, FL. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The American Lung Association, Lymphoma Research Foundation or Huntsman Cancer Research Institute.
