Compo, John David
John David Compo, age 74 of Ocala, died May 7, 2011. He was born to Arthur Compo and Helen Lyons-Compo on July 15, 1936 in Gouverneur, New York. John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joan Marlene Compo. His sons, Kevin Compo (Michelle) of Oklahoma City, OK; David Compo (Michele) of Palmyra, NY; And daughter Mary Ellen Borzor (Scott) of Sandy Creek, NY. Also survived are his four Grandchildren, Alexadria Compo, Marc Compo, Christopher Compo, and Matthew Compo. John and his wife Joan, moved to Florida in 2002 from New York. He was an Army Veteran who served in the Korean War. President of the Pulaski Service Club. He and wife Joan did some farming when they were younger, and later owned a fishing lodge prior to retirement. He was a community minded gentleman and a fun-loving 'prankster'. John was very much a handy man who also enjoyed "puttering around", and in the process, once restored a feed mill. He will be greatly missed by all, and especially his beloved wife. A memorial service for John will be 8:30 Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Queen of Peace, 6455 SW State Road 200, Ocala, FL. Immediately following will be an inurnment at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Memorial contributions may be directed to Unity Acres, 2290 County Route 2, Orwell, NY 13426.
