Obituary of Mary Ann Oelkers

Mary A. Oelkers, 73, The Villages, FL, passed away, Monday, May 9, 2011. She was born in Rice Lake, WI and retired from Modine Manufacturing Company after 23 years of service as Accounting Department Manager. Mary and her husband, Kenneth, moved to The Villages, FL in 1995. She was a volunteer for Operation Shoebox a member and past president of Hacienda N/E and Hickory Head Hammock Woman's Club and editor of Hacienda East Village Newsletter. She enjoyed her visits to family and friends in Wisconsin every summer until a few years ago. She also enjoyed golf, bowling, cards, dancing especially dancing to 50's style dance tunes. Mary certainly was the " Bargain Shopping Queen". Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Bernice Fergen. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Louis Oelkers, The Villages, FL; step daughters, Carolyn (Kenneth) Sutton, Merrill, WI, Mary (Peter) Olszewski, Kansasville, WI; sister, Bernice Dehler, The Villages, FL; brother, Bob Fergen, LaMesa, CA; nieces, Patrice (Jon) Rue, Mt. Airy, MD, Margaret (Chris) Chevrier, Clermont, FL, Connie (Scott) Kidwell, LaMesa, CA, Gina Fergen, Phoenix, AZ; nephew, Robert (Elise) St. Louis, Atlanta, GA and 5 grandchildren. Memorial services are 1:00 PM, Friday, May 13, 2011, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages, FL.
