I did not know Dora but have met her son Silas and worked with her daughter-in-law Johanna. May she rest in peace. Hopefully my husband, mother, grandmother & grandfather have had a chance to meet with her.

Dora L Griffey
When I met Mrs Griffey (my mother-in-law) I was very impressed by this wounderful women. She was 79, sharp as a tac, loved God & her children and was a beautiful lady.
We got along early on, as we had lots in common.
We both loved her son Silas, we both read the bible, and we both loved the same God, even though we were of different faiths.
She knew I loved her and I knew she loved me, because she would give me the
biggest and tightest hugs, hello & goodby.
We had many discussions about scripture. She taught me to make Spare Ribs and Collard greens Souther Style. I enjoyed hearing her talk Southern, sometimes I couldn't understand her, but as time went by I got used to her drawl.
When she started to fail, and I knew she couldn't read any more, I would read the psalms
to her and when I wasn,t able to be with her I would read the psalms for her.
Now she is reading the psalms with "Our God".
Rest in peace mother,
Johanna
