Obituary of Ruth Lillian Johnson

Ruth L. Johnson, age 83, of Ocala, FL passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2011. She was born in Tillson, NY on February 28, 1928. Mrs. Johnson was raised in New York City. She worked as a Nurse's Aide. Mrs. Johnson moved to Florida from New York in 1950. She was a Christian and the founder of We Who Care of Marion County, organizer of Special Needs Boy Scout Troop # 331, VFW Auxiliary # 4209, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary # 3656 all of Ocala, FL. Mrs. Johnson is predeceased by her husband Willie B. Johnson to whom she was married for 51 years. She is survived by her son Richard L. Johnson of Rapid City, SD; son Billy B. Johnson of Palatka, FL; daughter; Barbara A. Laugesen of Alabama; sister Margaret Ryan of Glen Oaks, NY; 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a flock of special needs kids. A visitation will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 from 7:00pm until 8:00pm. A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 5740 S. Pine Ave, Ocala, FL on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 4:00pm. Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Ocala, FL.
