Obituary of Shirley Ann Herbert

Shirley A. Herbert, 75, beloved wife and mother, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011 in Asheville, NC from a recurrence of a rare form of cancer. Shirley was born on July 23, 1936 in Pawtucket, RI and is preceded in death by her parents, Walter Coderre and Victoria Spano Coderre and sister, Barbara Robertson, all of Pawtucket, RI. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Louis P. Herbert of Summerfield, FL; son, Walter "Scott" Herbert and his wife, Karen of Tavares, FL; grandchildren, Jonathan Herbert and Jessica Herbert; and great-grandson, Logan Herbert. Shirley was a graduate of Pawtucket East High School and lived for many years in Plainville, MA before relocating to FL in 1993. She resided in Summerfield, FL from 2004 until her passing. She was a dedicated parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir and an advocate for their food pantry. She was also a member of the Spirited Singers of Del Webb Spruce Creek. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church at 10670 Southeast Highway 464, Candler, FL. All who wish to celebrate her life are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.
