Obituary of C.D. Tummond

C.D. Tummond, Jr., 93 of Chiefland, passed away Oct 12, 2011 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Lafayette County on April 1, 1918 to C.D. & Mattie Tummond, Sr., and spent most of his life in Levy County. Mr. Tummond served as tax collector for Levy County 16 years. He enjoyed fishing, visiting with friends and family, boating on the Suwannee and Islands in the Gulf. He is survived by his wife Dionisia Tummond, son & daughter-in-law C.D. 'Dick" and Ann Tummond, daughter Betty Ann Rowell, all of Chiefland, sisters Merle (Daniel) Newbern of Hatchbend, FL, Bobbi (Clint) Bias of Lake City, FL., Shirley Keller of Ponte Vedra, FL., brother, Billy (Jessie) Tummond of Eagle Lake, FL., and his 3 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, Oct 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Chiefland with Pastors Steve Boyd and Eddie Hatch officiating. Interment will follow at Chiefland Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 4:30 - 6:30 PM at the funeral home. Donations to Haven Hospice of the Tri County may be considered in lieu of flowers.
