Obituary of John Simone

THE VILLAGES — John Joseph Simone, 70, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011. He was born in Rome, N.Y., and moved to The Villages from Horseheads, N.Y., in the late 1990s. Mr. Simone was a retired tax manager for Corning Glass Works. He was a member of the Model Railroading Club, an avid golfer and Vegas enthusiast. He was also a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his daughter, Lynn Rechel, Bowie, Md., and one grandson, Daniel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Feed the Needy Program at First Presbyterian Church of Wildwood. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services - The Villages with visitation one hour before.
