Obituary of Juliet F. Hurley

Juliet F. Hurley, 53, The Villages, Florida, passed away at her home on Saturday, October 29, 2011, after a long illness. Juliet was born in Elizabethtown, NY on December 14, 1957, the 10th of 13 children of the late Joseph G. and Janet S. Firlik. She was a 1976 graduate of Moriah Central School in Port Henry, NY and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology at SUNY Oswego in 1980. Juliet married Harold Hurley in Saranac Lake, New York on February 25, 1995. She was a Senior Case Manager Coordinator in the Federal Bureau of Prisons at FCI Raybrook, NY and FCC Coleman, FL. Juliet was lovingly cared for and surrounded by her husband, Harold, her family and many dear friends while fighting a brave battle with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Juliet was a person of indomitable spirit and strength who lived life on her terms. She was quick with a smile and had a gift for connecting with people. Juliet will be missed very much. Juliet is survived by her husband, Harold; Harold's son, Michael E. Hurley and his wife, Maggie, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; her mother-in-law, Jeannine Hurley of Albany, NY; her brothers: Joseph G. Firlik, III and Mary Lou Tesmer of Watertown, NY; Jeffrey P. Firlik and his wife, Luanne, of Williston, VT; James R. Firlik and Brenda LeClair of Port Henry, NY; and Jerome T. Firlik and his fiancé, Denise Ross, of Corning, NY; her sisters: Joyce F. Frenia of Southhampton, NJ; Janet F. Barry of North Syracuse, NY; Jacqueline F. Baker of Port Henry, NY; Jill F. Moynihan of Camillus, NY; Judy F. Pepper and her husband, Chuck, of Battle Ground, WA; Joanne F. Kordziel of Wilmington, NY; Jennifer F. Diamond and her husband, Rick, of Hudson Falls, NY; and her grandchildren, Julia and Megan Hurley of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; and many nieces and nephews. Juliet was predeceased by her parents, her brother, John S. Firlik and her Father-in Law, Harold E. Hurley. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mark the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, in Summerfield, FL, on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at 10 AM. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, from 6PM to 9PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires, Blvd., The Villages, FL. Interment will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
