Obituary of Dale William Warren

Dale William Warren, age 88, of Ocala, FL passed quietly from this life on November 2, 2011 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret Nuernberger Warren, a son, Russell Lee Warren (Pamela) of Bloomington, IL and a daughter, Sue Schaefer (James) of Taylorsville, KY. A son, Michael Dale, preceded him in death. Survivors also include a grandson, Matthew James Warren, granddaughters Lindsay Warren and Meghan Dawson and 4 great grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by his parents Leland and Leona Warren and sister Leonel. Dale served in the Army Air Force as an aerial gunnery trainer from 1943 to 1946. After his discharge he owned and operated a service station and body shop until joining State Farm Insurance Co. as a property claims adjuster. He became a Claims Supervisor and then Claims Superintendent of the Southern Illinois Region. After retirement he and his wife enjoyed many years of traveling and wintered in Florida for 15 years. They settled, permanently, in Florida for the past 10 years. Dale was an animal lover and knew the names of all the pets wherever he lived, although many times did not know or remember their owners' names. He was a very gentle man, an award-winning master woodcarver, a hobby he took up after retirement, and a talented painter. Arrangements are under the care of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 9695 SW 110th St. Ocala, FL 34482. He will be cremated and interred at the family plot in Illinois at a later date.
