Obituary of George Houston Overman

George Houston Overman, 89, of Ocala, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011 in Ocala, FL. He was born on June 13, 1922 in Marion, Indiana son of the late George P. and Louise (Houston) Overman. He attended Purdue and Indiana Universities before serving in WWII in the United States Army Air Force. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Pythias and a faithful member of the Sons of The American Revolution (SAR). The Overman family operated a Poultry Business in Marion, Indiana for many years. George retired from General Motors in 1987 and moved to Ocala in 1990. He was also preceded in death by a son Brian D. Overman. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth (Betty), sons Philip L. Overman, Houston, TX, Dennis E. (Elaine) Overman, Valley Center, CA and David C. Overman, Ft. Wayne, IN: daughters Margery L. Overman, Madison, WI and Linda (Tony) Hinrichs, Ft. Wayne, IN and seven grandchildren. A memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 2:00PM in the TimberRidge Chapel of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 9695 SW 110th St. Ocala with Rev.
