Carol,
We will always remember Warren and his wonderful sense of humor. He was a remarkable man and a good friend. We still think back on our TCD bridge days and the fun we had kibitzing around the bridge table.
We share your loss as we all carried a bit of Warren in our hearts.

Dear Carl and Family,
Our deepest condolences for your great loss. Ward and I have many fond memories of Warren, throughout our military life. Warren loved people and was always ready to give a helping hand whenever and whenever needed. We will remember him especially at the recent September reunion at Atlanta where he was surrounded by so many friends and acquaintances. He wrote to us afterward that he was so very happy to see us there and so many good friends, as well.
Our prayers go out for him, and to you and your family. May he rest in peace.

Dear Carol and family,
We are thinking of you in this time of sorrow. Warren was a loving and giving family man, and I know you have suffered a great loss. He will be missed by all who knew him.
We have great memories of the times we shared together. The birth of our first grandchild has to top the list. Joey made his entrance into the world with a roomful of friends, family and 2 sets of very proud grandparents to cherish the moment.
Another time that makes us smile, was the day we had brunch together and spent the afternoon on your pontoon boat. We had lots of laughs, drinks and ended the evening in the hot tub. It was an awesome day.
Remembering the good times, and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Melissa,
What moves through us when a loved one passes is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, and you may not understand why he left this earth so soon or why he left before you were ready to say goodbye, but little by little, you will begin to remember not just that he died, but that he lived. And that his life gave you memories to beautiful to ever forget. Hold on to those memories as they will be what gets you through each and every day. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love you,

Dear Carol and family,
Even though you are mourning the loss of Warren, remember there are those on the other side welcoming him and rejoicing!
One of our favorite memories of Warren occurred on a Christmas Eve quite a few years ago. Joey was getting a bike that required "some" assembly. It took 4 slightly intoxicated men, 2 grandfathers (both Colonel's), a dad, and an uncle, most of the night to put the bike together! There were only a few parts leftover and most of the nuts and bolts were eventually accounted for. It was a wonderful, fun night and the smile on Joey's face the next morning made if even more special. The memory of that still makes us laugh.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
God Bless,
Brendan, Julie, Bren and Meaghan

Carol,
Marilyn and I were saddened to hear that my fellow "Gray Eagle" passed on to a better place. I will never forget the good times we had, first in the AF - Griffiss and Langley days, then in forming the Gray Eagles, and finally working for Dunk Campbell at BDM. The Gray Eagles, just the two of us, ha ha, had a great if somewhat confusing time trying to figure out how to make a few $ while doing something productive. Our foray into the world of dirty Mexican politics, when we tried to get a contract to modernize the Mexican ATC system, would make a good movie if not the super barroom tale that we both told many times. Through it all, and into our BDM days, Fed kept me straight with his consistent good humor and positive attitude. The world will be a lesser place without him, but I bet he is already the starting catcher on St Peter's heavenly ball team.
Love and prayers to you and your family,
Jim & Marilyn Amodeo

Carol, Pat and I are sorry to learn that Warren has passed. Please accept our sincere sympathy. Warren was a superb officer, a great boss and a good friend. Working for him at Tactical Communications Area was a great experience. He was a pleasure to work for. I always admired the way that he ran the Air Traffic Control division and learned a lot from him. Later, while assigned to Tinker AFB and again at Langley, I came to know that Warren was "Mr. Air Traffic Control" for Tactical Air Command. Warren was fun to be around. He had a great sense of humor that had more than a hint of rural North Carolinia. You never knew what he was going to say or do next. He kept things interesting. Warren was a big part of our Air Force and I wll miss him.

Carol, Judi and I send our deepest sympathies. Warren gave me my first job when I retired from the Air Force, and I don't think I ever passed a day in that Virginia Beach office without learning something from him. Not that learning from Warren was a somber (or necessarily even a sober) experience. I don't think I ever knew anyone who so enjoyed life as he lived it, or so cherished and nourished his multitude of friends. He was in fact "a good bit larger than life". We will all miss him very much.

What a great Man! I could always remember him saying" bless your heart " , for something that touched his heart.I am so gald he did not suffer a long term illness. I am so greatfull the love and support The Col. and Ms Love supported my son James J Mills, 111, due to a divorce from one of his 3 daughters. He always showed honor and integrity toward me and help his daughter raise him too, as the son he never had.He was a big mentor in my sons life. God bless him for taking him under his wing and the countless time he spent coaching Baseball to a youth. " which if you knew him, He was, "for the love of the game". He was a baseball fanatic. I could remember, The Col. quoting statistics over the breakfast table about some player that impressed him and I saying " Really, I did not know that", not really caring about the stats..I am not a big baseball fan. But good Lord he knew his stats. He should have been a commentator for Baseball after he retired from the Air Force, he knew his stats.
The Col. was a class act, an Officer and a Gentleman. It was an honor to spend time with him. I learn so much about life spending time with him, growing up myself. Fed was definitely a Word Smith and one of the smartest men I have ever known. I was very proud to talk about my father-in-law who took over after all the Air Trafic Controllors went on strike. He was the Man, that stepped in to help run the commerical side along with the Air Forces Controllers too.
He was a gentle soul, except for the first time when I was dating his daugther in the beginning and I fell asleep on his daughters bed fully clothed, I might add. Just a wee bit of drinking might have been involved.I thought that night I saw the devil come out of him after he came home from the Officers Club and I started out sound asleep.I was out of there in 30 seconds or less. He was pissed and I was in love. I think I had a little satisfaction after a few weeks later at the Offices Club when he got bucked off the mechanical bull after a few Manhattens, but I held on just alittle longer. Just a fun night night for us bonding. In time I would like to think he accepted me, after all, he gave me his 1960 golf clubs,as he had his new Pings,"I don't remember his band", but the Woods sucked, but I would give him a run for his money with my iron game. Time well spent!
Thank you for the memories, Sir .I will never forget you and what you have done for my Son. It was an honor to know you.
PS. If you are ever looking over my shoulder, it would be nice for alittle help in some of my Texas Hold'em games. The Lotto would be nice too. I'll make sure your Grandson and his Family are taken care of....Jim.
May the Lord be with you. You have done your job and did it well. Peace be with you, Colonel.
Carol, my thoughts and prayer are with you during this trying time. I hope and wish you well. My memories are very fond. I just wanted to take this moment to say along waited,"Thank You", for all that you have done for my Son. It is Greatly appreciated, God Bless You! And,for all you continue to do and the time you spend with my grandchildren. You are blessed to be so loved. And peace be with you. My deepest Sympathy to you. I hope you can enjoy the rest of your time here in this paralel, do not lose faith. You have a wonderfull support group around you. Enjoy your time! You are loved! And Wanted. Take care, Jim

Warren was the one man on my staff who never lost his direction. He had a moral compass which could not be disturbed. If it was the right thing to do, it was the direction he chose and the one he insisted we follow. If I waivered, he kept the pressure on. Kathy and I remember so many good times with the two of you. In Memoriam: "To fly west, my friend, is a flight we all must take for a final check"--Author Unknown. May we add two verses from Lt.Col Tully's memoriam :
FLY
Fly, fly little wing
Fly beyond imagining
The softest cloud, the whitest dove
Upon the wind of heaven's love
Past the planets and the stars
Leave this lonely world of ours
Escape the sorrow and the pain
And fly again!
........ Fly, fly little wing
Fly where only angles sing
Fly away, the time is right
Go now, find the light.
Warren, may your soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace.
Carol and family, our heartfelt sympathy and prayers are with and for you.
