Obituary of Jean Ann Krantz

Mrs. Jean Ann Krantz, 85, of Summerfield, FL passed away on Monday, December 5, 2011, after a brief illness at Tuscany House of Marion County Hospice. She was born on October 6, 1926, in upstate NY, the daughter of the late John W. and Kathryn M. Atchison. She was the widow of James "Sonny" Krantz who died in 2009. She was also predeceased by one daughter, Judith Krantz, in 2005, and a sister, Mrs. Linda Kay Wallace in 2004. Mrs. Krantz was a graduate of Middleburgh Central High in the class of 1945. She later served her country abroad as a WAF Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954. For many years, Mrs. Krantz owned and operated a hair salon in upstate New York. Later, she relocated to Frederick, MD where she lived for many years and acquired many friendships. She and her husband retired to Ocala and Summerfield, FL for the remainder of their lives. Surviving Mrs. Krantz is one daughter, Debbie Breeding and her husband, Bruce, who reside in Malvern, Iowa, a daughter, Kathryn LaBruzza Hart, and her husband, Jeff, and a son, Lon Krantz all of whom reside in Ocala, FL. Additionally, she was blessed with four grandchildren, Lauren Schuster, Michael Hart, Courtney Jean Yancey, and Michael Shaw all residing in Ocala with their spouses. She is also survived by two brothers, Gerald S. Atchison and his wife, Barbara, of Tamarac, FL, David W. Atchison, of Ocklawaha, FL and sister, Delite L. Fox and her husband Wayne F. Fox of Frederick, MD, a brother-in-law, Henry Wallace, of Summerfield, FL, many nieces and nephews, two great grandchildren, and many good friends who will remember her for her wonderful spirit. She was a veteran member at the F.S.K. American Legion Post #11 in Frederick, MD and a VFWL A member of 3285 in Frederick as well. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Little Lake Weir, 13670 SE 108th Court Road, Ocklawaha, FL 32179.
