Obituary of Shirley Janette Perry

Perry, Shirley Janette, 58 Janette Perry, 58, of Pedro, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 6, 2011. Ms. Perry was a native of Ocala. She achieved her Master's Degree from Florida State University and went on to be one of the first blind teachers at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind in St. Augustine, where she taught music for 25 years. Ms. Perry was a member of First Baptist Church, Pedro, belonged to the Lions Club, achieved a brown belt in karate, but her special gift was music. She could play the flute, piano, as well as numerous other instruments and wrote music and songs for her family. She is survived by her father Carl Perry, Jr.; sister Sue (Arthur) Starling; brother Scott (Debby) Perry; nephews Zack and Coppie Starling, all of Pedro. A graveside service will be held at 2PM on Friday, December 9, 2011 in Pine Level Cemetery in Oxford.
