Obituary of Raymond J. Musleh
Raymond J. "Ray" Musleh, age 84, of Ocala, FL passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012. He was born in Ocala, FL on September 10, 1927. Ray lived all his life in Ocala. He was a 1944 graduate of Ocala High School. Ray joined the US Army where he served for 4 years and was a Reporter for Stars and Stripes. After his military service, Ray returned to Ocala where he took over the family business called Sam's Liquors. After selling Sam's Liquors in 1971, Ray joined the Real Estate community when he started ABC Realty. He later moved to Roberts Realty where he worked until the time of his death. He was the original Sports Editor for the Ocala Star before it merged with the Ocala Banner. Ray was an active lifelong member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. He was a true Gator fan and was a 55 year member of the Gator Boosters Assoc. He is survived by his wife Nancy Polk Musleh of Ocala, FL; Jay (Sigrid) Musleh of Ocala, FL; daughter Jan Musleh McCall of Ocala, FL; sister Naifey Musleh (Harry) Saunders of Ocala, FL; brother The Honorable Victor J. (Barbara) Musleh, Sr. of Ocala, FL; 6 grandchildren Heather, J.R., Jessica, Christina, Tyler and Hunter; 2 great grandchildren Leighton and Benson. Ray was preceded in death by his first wife of 54 years Agnes Musleh, parents Salem and Zahra Musleh, brothers Salem, Jr. and E.G. "Gus" Musleh, and a sister Renee Musleh. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 5 Southeast 17th Street, Ocala, FL on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 11:30am. A visitation will take place at the church on Saturday from 10:30am until the time of the service at 11:30am. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum, Ocala, FL.
