Obituary of Sandra L Van Nice

Sandra Louise Van Nice, 83, of Ocala, Florida passed away at Grace Davis Hall of Marion County Hospice surrounded by family and friends on April 15, 2024. Sandy, as she liked to be called, was born on November 28, 1940, the daughter of Charles Ray Cornelius and Mary Elizabeth Bartelt. Sandy was born in Waterloo, Iowa and married Gary Brummer in 1960 and divorced in 1976. She had three sons Mark Brummer, Randall Brummer, and Brian Brummer. She met Thomas Van Nice in 1977 and married in 1978 in Waterloo, Iowa. Sandy accepted Tom's three children as her own, Jennifer, John, and Catherine. During their 46 years of marriage Sandy was strong in her Catholic faith and in her retired years volunteered at Immaculate Heart of Mary thrift store. Sandy is survived by her loving husband Tom, her children Randy and Brian, Jennifer, Catherine, and John, fourteen grand-children and twenty-four great-grand-children. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Mark. A funeral service for Sandy will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 10670 SE Maricamp Rd, Ocala, Fl 34472, on Tuesday, April 23 at 10:00 AM viewing in the foyer of the church and 11:00 Mass of the Resurrection followed by a luncheon in the church social hall.
