Obituary of Helga Turner

Helga R. Turner, of Tallahassee, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2024 in Leesburg, FL.

Helga was born in Deggendorf, Germany to Paula and Adolf Ilg on January 15, 1943.

She apprenticed in bookselling in Deggendorf. Helga married Army Master Sergeant O'Neal F. Turner in Straubing, Germany. Helga worked at Florida State University as an administrative assistant in various departments until her retirement. She was a competitive bowler and enjoyed playing board games with her friends and family. Helga also was well known for her baking skills.

Her cherry cake will be sorely missed.

She was devoted to her family and her pets.

Helga is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years.

She is survived by daughters, Sybil R. Turner (Mark W. Johnson) of Atlanta, GA and Margaret Turner (Herbert W Dyal II) of Orlando, FL; her sister Gisela Fuchs of Egg, Germany and many nieces and grand-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be April 5, 2024, between 3:00-5:00p at Hiers-Baxley, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages. There will be a graveside service on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 12:00p at Tallahassee Memory Gardens.
