Obituary of Sharon Yvonne Griffith
Sharon Y. Griffith, 74 passed away on Thursday March 7,2024 at home unexpectedly. She leaves behind a legacy of loving her family unconditionally, living life to the fullest while never wavering in her faith of Our Lord Jesus Christ. She will always be remembered for being an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend but she will always be deeply loved and missed forever by all that knew her.
Sharon was born on September 27, 1949 in Frenchburg KY to Bethard and Millie Wells. The family later moved to Tipp City, Ohio. In her early teens she met the man she would marry before graduating from Tippicanoe High School, Tex Williams. Tex was a year older and had been drafted into the Army upon his graduation and served 2 tours in the Vietnam war. After returning from the war Sharon and Tex moved to Orlando, FL. where together they had 2 children. After being a stay at home Mom for many years she started her career Orlando Utilities Commission. In early 1986 Sharon and Tex divorced after 22 years of marriage.
In late 1986 Sharon met Richard Griffith at a bowling alley. In those years, They fell in love and Sharon married the man she referred to as her knight and shining armor on May 27, 1989 and had been married 34 years at the time of her passing. They enjoyed so many things together like traveling to visit family, bowling, hiking or riding around in the woods or many places along their travels. Years ago Sharon had inherited a hunting camp lot in a little town in the Ocala National Forest called Hog Valley from her late aunt Gladys so for next 10 years Sharon and Griff worked hard slowly buying lots around them eventually building their Getaway into a large beautiful property with a house big enough for family and friends to always be able to visit and stay awhile. After Sharon and Richard both retired from Orlando Utilities Commission in 1999 they moved to Hog Valley to live in their Forever Getaway they had worked so hard on for them to live out the rest of their days in the forest they loved so much. Their home was filled with so much love and happiness you could feel it when you walked in the door. That is where on March 7th Our Lord decided to wrap her in his arms and take her to her heavenly Getaway where we will all meet again one day.
