Obituary of Jeannine Mabel Cox
Jeannine Mabel Cox, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the Ocala community, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024, at the age of 87.
Born on January 17th, 1937, in Miami, Florida, Jeannine married Johnnie M. Cox in 1957, and they made their home in Ocala, Florida, since 1970. She is survived by her three of her four devoted sons, Gregory Cox, Gary Cox, and Dean Cox, their caring daughters-in-law, Krisa, Nelia, and Shelly, and her cherished grandchildren, Sydney Cox, Hayley Cox, and Delaney Cox, and step-grandchildren, Victoria Patronis, Connor Patronis, Cohen Hensley and Gavin Hensley. She survived her son John Darren Cox who passed away in 2018 and her husband Johnnie who passed away in 2021. She also survived two step-grandsons Scott Smith and Sam Smith who passed away 2008 and 2020 respectfully.
Jeannine was a compassionate and nurturing mother who dedicated herself to raising her four sons with boundless love and care. She lovingly embraced every aspect of her sons' lives, actively participating in and nurturing their academic and athletic pursuits. Whether cheering from the sidelines at sporting events or offering guidance and support through their academic endeavors, she was fully devoted to fostering their growth and success. Her family was the center of her world, and her unwavering devotion to them was evident in every aspect of her life.
An active member of Trinity Baptist Church, Jeannine was a founding member and played an integral role in various aspects of the church community. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she found immense joy in serving others through her involvement in church activities.
In her professional life, Jeannine dedicated many years of service to the Marion County School Board, where she made a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues alike. Her commitment to education and her nurturing spirit left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
Jeannine will be fondly remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and boundless love for her family and community. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and service that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A celebration of Jeannine's life will be held at Trinity Baptist Church on March 25th, 2024. Visitation will be held at Trinity Baptist Church starting at 11AM, followed by the service starting at 12 noon. A private interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Baptist Church in memory of Jeannine Cox.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
