Obituary of Kersten J. Emery

Kersten Emery, 47, of Las Vegas, died at home on February 24^th after a brave battle with breast cancer.

She was born on January 16, 1977, in Lavallette, NJ, and grew up in Ocala, FL. In 2005, Kersten move to St. Augustine for new beginnings and met her future husband, Jeremy Higgins. They took off together for Las Vegas in 2007 to settle a home, and in 2013, they married. With a combined commitment to family and work ethic, Kersten and Jeremy built an extraordinary life together.

In addition to her husband, Kersten is survived by her mother, Jereyl Emery-Kaspar; father, Basil Kaspar; uncle, Wes Emery; aunt, Diane Emery; and cousins Robin Emery & Keith Emery. She is also survived by her husband’s extensive family, which includes his parents and several siblings, their spouses, and their children.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elizabeth and Arthur Emery.

Kersten will always be remembered for her kindness and laughter and the way that she lit up the room. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be missed every day, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all those she touched.
