Obituary of Robert O'Connell

Robert B. O’Connell, 84, of Summerville, Fl, passed away on February 25, 2024.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, FL. Visitation will be at 10am, followed by memorial service 11am to noon. A reception to follow at the site.

Arrangements are made by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services.

Robert O’Connell was born May 28, 1939 in Quincy, Ma to George and Helen O’Connell. He graduated from Braintree High School, in Braintree, Ma and Bridgeport University, Bridgeport, CT.

He worked for the FAA as a federal air-traffic controller for over 40 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war and served the US Army.

Bob, as he was known by family and friends, was an avid golfer, a member of the Ocala Duplicate bridge club, and a fan of horse racing.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Francis Edward, and Paul Joseph.

Robert is survived by his daughter Kelly J. Bouras, her husband, James, and granddaughter Ashley Servideo of Mansfield MA.

He is also survived by his brother George Stephen, 90, of Calabash, NC and many nieces and nephews.
