Obituary of Alonzo Charles Goetz Jr.

Alonzo Charles Goetz, Jr., 68 of Ocala, Florida passed away on February 20, 2024.  He was born on May 7, 1955 in Medellin, Colombia.

He attended Boyd H Anderson High School, Lauderdale Lakes, Florida; and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida.  He worked as a Lab director at Renstar Medical Research, Ocala, Florida from 1999 to 2024 Alonzo enjoyed the outdoors as an avid bass fisherman, riding his mountain bike, and hiking.  He held memberships in the Ocala Mountain Biking Association, a proud supporter of the NRA, proud supporter of Disabled American Veteran Association.

Alonzo is preceded in death by his parents Alonzo Charles Goetz, Sr., and Teresa Castano Goetz.

He is survived by his spouse Connie Goetz of Ocala, his children Jourdan Goetz of Orlando, Hailey Reeves of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia (Mike Reeves), Rachael Sanchez of Ocala (Johnny Sanchez), Robert Hannafius of Ocala, six grandchildren and his sister Sandra Goetz of Medellin, Columbia.
 

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, Florida 34470.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
