Joan Laliberty

Obituary of Joan Marie Laliberty

Joan Marie Laliberty, 85, born on July 7, 1938 in Westbrook, Maine to Raymond O. Delcourt and Antoinette R. Vincent Delcourt, she passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at E.W. & Lucille Cates House in Ocala, Florida.

She graduated from Westbrook High School, she married the love of her life Jerry and they were married for almost 50 years before he passed in 2006.   They raised 5 daughters, and she worked for Maine National Bank as a Loan Officer, before retiring to Florida.

Joan’s greatest treasure was her daughters, she would boast about them any time she could. Joan retired with her late husband to Ocala, Florida in the late 1980’s. You could find Joan living out her passions of helping out in the community, volunteering at multiple sites and teaching folks to dance.

Joan was very active in her parish community. She truly embodied her faith, lived it, and shared it with family and extended family.

Joan had many dear friends here in Ocala and also in Maine.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Laliberty, brother’s Melvin Delcourt and Donald Delcourt.

She is survived by her brother, Norman Delcourt, wife Anne, sister in-law, Mary Delcourt.  Daughters, Diane Sangillo, husband Michael Sangillo, Mary Ciampi, husband Alexander Ciampi, Laurie Groves, husband William Groves, Elaine Bingham, husband Ronald Bingham, Sandra Gerard, husband John Gerard, grandchildren Colleen Sangillo, Denise Sangillo, Michael Sangillo, Jr, Brad Bingham, Andrew Bingham, Daniel Groves, Steven Groves, Jessica Fogg, Anthony Ciampi, and 19 great grandchildren.

She will truly be missed by all and she will always hold a special place in our hearts.
