Obituary of Larry Edwards Mixon

Larry Edwards Mixon, 78, of Ocala, Florida peacefully passed away the morning of February 7th, 2024 at the Gracie Davis Hall Hospice House. He was born August 18, 1945, the son of the Mary Elizabeth Edwards and Rex Wayne Mixon Sr. Larry was a native of Jacksonville, Florida where he became a basketball star at Robert E. Lee High School. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and went on to graduate from Elon University in North Carolina – where he played basketball for both universities. Larry married his loving wife, Reba Faye Parks, and together the two shared many years of love and happiness. Larry retired from AT&T where he was the Consumer Service Director. He enjoyed many years of retirement life working outdoors, reading and watching all things basketball. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Reba; his children, Jonathon Jay Mixon and Renee Boatwright; siblings, Mark Mixon & Rex Wayne Mixon Jr; aunt and uncle, Drew & Ada Reddish.
