Obituary of Philip Lawrence Pesola
Philip “Phil” Lawrence Pesola was the fourth oldest of six children to Waino and Blanche Pesola. The family moved from Pennsylvania to Florida, first to Coral Gables, and later to Ocala. In 1959, Philip graduated from University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering; thereafter, he enlisted and became an officer in the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1967.
In 1961, Philip married. He and his wife moved from Illinois to Ocala to raise their two children: Brian and Sherry. In 1971, Philip began working at the family business Delta Laboratories, Inc. where he served as Executive Vice President, and then President, before retiring in 2021 at the age of 84.
As a very involved father, Philip supported all aspects of his children’s lives, whether it was scholastics or sports. He gave the same time and attention to his two grandsons: Cameron and Harrison. Philip was very proud of all their accomplishments.
In addition to his work and family life, Philip was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Club, and was a devoted parishioner and supporter of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and Trinity Catholic High School. He was and avid swimmer and enjoyed his daily walks through his neighborhood.
Philip is predeceased by his parents, Waino Pesola (father) and Blanche Pesola (mother). His siblings, John Pesola (brother), Mary Pesola (Sister), Richard Pesola (brother), Wayne Pesola (brother), and his daughter Sherry Pesola.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Brian (son), Kellie (daughter-in-law), Cameron (grandson), Harrison (grandson), Charles “Sam” Pesola (brother), Barbara Pesola (sister-in-law), Elena Pesola (sister-in-law), and many nieces, nephews, and their children.
Philip was a great man who possessed intelligence, kindness, faithfulness, and great love for his family.
He will be truly missed.
