Obituary of Jean Louise Durost

Jean Louise Durost, 92, of Ocala, Florida and formerly of Trumbull, Connecticut passed away December 6, 2023 in Ocala. She passed peacefully surrounded by multi-generations of family. Jean was born in Bridgeport, CT, and was a daughter of the late Arthur and Florence MacDowell. Jean was a kind-hearted and a very giving person; you would never leave her home without something in your hands. She loved animals and spent many years singing in the choir at First Baptist Church. She worked many years with intellectually disabled children and adults at ARC Marion and children at Maplewood Elementary School. Jean was also a volunteer at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala. She will be greatly missed by all. Jean is survived by her three children, George L. Heinrich (St. Petersburg, FL), Sheryl A. (Skip) Gustafson (Ocala, FL), and Dawn C. Vadney (Belleview, FL), and her dog Heidi. She had 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters (Dorothy and Lola), daughter-in-law (Donna), granddaughter (Sarah), and husband (Donald). Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, 12:30 pm, at First Baptist Church of Ocala, 2801 SE Maricamp Rd., Ocala, FL 34471.
