I will never forget George as a young buck growing up in the 1970's, looking for a stable job. He introduced me to DEC in 1977 and I never looked back. He was a coach to young people, and always that guy you could ask for advice. Always the hard worker, always a true professional. Miss you George, god bless you and family. Thank you for shaping my life in the early days. Paul Pazolt.

My dad, George Nickerson, passed away on Tuesday, November 28. I am deeply sad and completely shaken. We only learned he was sick in August. We were supposed to have more time. I am very grateful I got to be with him for his last days, but my heart, it's broken.
My dad was a wonderful man, so gentle and kind, but with the perfect amount of mischief thrown in. He had the sparkliest blue eyes. He loved 50s music, classic cars, and his weekly poker game with his Mulberry buddies. He was a great storyteller and had the best Boston accent. I can still hear him saying, "Hey Trippah, you want a beeyah?" Like a true Bostonian, he loved the Patriots, the Red Sox, and Dunkin' Donuts. He was a friend to most—not the a**holes—and had many decades-long friendships he truly treasured. We had the best dad/daughter bond—I just adored him.
The boys named him Pompa (they couldn't say grandpa) and he wore that title with pride. He loved being their granddad. They were the lights of his life. I'm so saddened by their loss, too.
One thing that is bringing me comfort is the thought of him being reunited with my mum. He missed her so.
It was my dad's wish not to have a ceremony of any kind. Instead, if you knew him and loved him like we did, please grab a Dunkin' coffee this weekend and pour one out for my dad. And if you'd like, instead of flowers please consider making a donation in my dad's name to the Cornerstone Hospice Foundation at 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778. They are wonderful people.
We love you and miss you, dad. Rest in peace.

George was the bridge between my wife, Tammy, and myself. He was close with each of us and thought we'd make a good pair. That was 8 years ago. George was a participant in our Tuesday night card game of 7-8 guys. We got to know each other well over the years...the ups and downs of life. Back in July he 'needed to take a break from the game "for a few weeks" due to health concerns. He never returned. George was a sweet, gentle, empathetic man who cared about many others and brought happiness to all.
