Obituary of Edna Marie Jordan
Edna Marie Jordan passed away on November 26, 2023, in Winter Park, Florida. She was born in Polk City, Florida on September 1, 1927 to the late Aaron Anderson and Lessie O’Steen Voyles.
She was an Educator, a Guidance Counselor and a Medical Missionary in Leogane, Haiti. Edna enjoyed her family especially participating in the O’Steen Family Reunion in Polk City, Florida, her many cherished friends and her concern and work with young people. She was a member of PEO and the Presbyterian Church. In her later years, she developed and founded an assistance program to help retirees find new careers in their retirement years.
Edna is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Theodore "Scotty" Jordan and many cherished friends. She is survived by her son Randy (Jan) Jordan of High Point, North Carolina; daughters Jan Stone and Vicki (Bruce) Johnson of Orlando, Florida; brother Don Voyles of New Bern, North Carolina; sisters Iva Faircloth of Taft, Tennessee and Martha Meyers of Howey in the Hills, Florida; grandchildren Amanda (Andrew) Goins of Apex, North Carolina, Robert (LaTisha) Jordan of High Point, North Carolina, Carolyn (Jen) Johnson of Oakland, California and Scott Johnson of San Francisco of California; and great-grandchildren Henry and Lucy Jordan and Caroline and Anderson Goins.
A visitation will take place on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, Florida 34470. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
