Obituary
Obituary of Sandy Harrison Kemp
Sandy Kemp, a deeply loved and cherished individual, was born on May 28, 1953, and left us too soon on November 17, 2023. Blessed with a positive and encouraging spirit, he was known as someone who was loved and highly respected in his church community and family. Sandy left a monumental impact for God on all who crossed paths with him.
He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife Judy Kemp, whom he lovingly nicknamed Hummingbird. Sandy would serenade his hummingbird on every anniversary, singing “More” a song that represented his unwavering love. His love for his family was unparalleled, and his absence will be deeply felt by all. Alice Jones ,or Nanny as she is known by all, was always there to mend or fix any article of clothing for Sandy, just like our God is always there to help mend and fix the broken pieces. His children, Karry, Joe, Ashtin, and Sharon, want to extend heartfelt gratitude to the church family he loved and ministered to, and understand that the loss of this dear loved one is felt by many.
Sandy graduated with an associate degree from the College of Central Florida Ocala Campus in 2015, alongside his wife Judy, who graduated with honors! They actually made front-page news for their academic accomplishments at their age, and their family was there to congratulate and share in their excitement for this awesome milestone!
Sandy lived his life for God and dedicated his life to fulfilling his calling to minister God's word to all who would listen. He enjoyed spending time studying God's word, reflecting his deep spirituality and devotion. His favorite book was, of course, The Bible, which he always turned to for guidance and comfort. Romans 12:1-2, Romans 5:8, and Corinthians 10:5 were among his most treasured scriptures.
He had a flair for life, always showcasing his great sense of humor and positivity. His family always said he never met a stranger; his kindness and love for God prevented him from not making genuine Christ-filled interactions with all those he came across and even offering to pray for them on the spot whenever God led him to do so. His family and friends, while grieving, have come together and been able to have laughter and joy in sharing their most loved memories of Sandy, their Superman. His family also has very fond memories of their tradition of playing many lively games of Back Alley anytime they all came together. Sandy loved eating General Tao chicken and snacking on Gumdrops. He was a fan of action and sci-fi TV shows, with a soft spot for Hallmark. His favorite movies included the inspiring tales of "Last Holiday" and "A Knight's Tale," and “Family Man”. One of his favorite quotes was “You have been weighed; you have been measured, and you have been found wanting” from the movie “A Knight's Tale”. In writing this memorial of his life, his family wanted to share that quote in a new way, “You have been weighed; you have been measured, and you have been found worthy.” Praise God!
His favorite vacation spot was beachside, surrounded by his family, as Sandy loved nothing more than enjoying the beauty of the ocean while enjoying the conversation, love, and laughter in the company of his loved ones. His memory lives on in these cherished moments and places.
A memorial service to honor Sandy's life will be held on December 2, 2023, at 2 PM at the Sonshine Ministries Church. His God-filled life and legacy will be celebrated and remembered by all those fortunate enough to have known him.

Sandy Kemp’s legacy is a blessing, and his life, a celebration of God's love and faithfulness. His family would like to leave you with one of his favorite quotes, ”God is on the Throne, Jesus Saves, and the Holy Ghost has the Power. Amen.”
