Obituary of Jennifer Rachel Alexander Ranney
JENNIFER RACHEL ALEXANDER RANNEY beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt and friend passed from this life on Sunday, October 29th, 2023 in Ocala, FL. She was born July, 1978 in Tampa, Florida to Christopher Alexander and Rebecca Allen Alexander. Rachel as she liked to be called, was predeceased in death by her father Christopher, her maternal grandmother Gloria “Nanny” as everyone called her and her maternal and paternal grandfathers. She is survived by her two beautiful children Lyla and Logan Ranney. Her mother Rebecca, her stepfather John and two sisters, Kodie Ashley and Aubrie Logan, her niece Aurora and nephew Carson. She leaves behind her two favorite fur babies Lola and Lucy as well as many friends, aunts, uncles, cousins and second cousins. It is a very large and loving family that mourns the loss of Rachel.
Rachel took the advice of her Nanny who always said, “travel and know there is a very big world out there”. And she did. She has traveled to Ireland, England, France, Costa Rica, Bahamas, Punta Cana and many other tropical places, just to name a few. She loved the beach and her favorite food was chicken and dumplings!
In her educational journey, Rachel achieved her bachelor’s degree then went on to obtain a Master of Science in Family and Marriage Counseling and Therapy. Rachel worked as a therapist in Connecticut before she moved back to her home state of Florida and continued to work and counsel children and families in trouble.
Rachel never knew a stranger. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could be quite sassy! She belonged to many ladies’ groups and volunteered to bring food to homeless shelters. Rachel attended Good News Church of Ocala and loved Jesus. Rachel will be missed by all who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held on November 16th at 4:00pm at Good News Church of Ocala 5600 SE 24th Street, Ocala, FL 34472.
