Obituary of Ruby Belle Pelot

Ruby Belle Pelot. Born March 14, 1924, of Belleview FL passed away at her home October 22, 2023. Ruby was born in Brooklyn, Iowa, the daughter of the late Ray Scott Robey and Daisy Mae Robey. She graduated from Brooklyn High School at the age of 16 and continued with Secretarial School. Ruby had a double wedding with her sister Ruth on March 22, 1945, at the Brooklyn United Methodist church. She moved to Belleview on January 28, 1958, and soon after started working at Belleview Post Office. On September 3, 1977, she married her late husband John Frank Pelot III of Belleview FL. She worked a total of 24 years for the Postal Service becoming Postmaster but later choosing to be a mail carrier so she could work her own hours. She was an active member of the Belleview United Methodist Church and Belleview Historical Society and drank many cups of Tea with the members. She taught Sunday School and promoted the Methodist Youth Fellowship. Ruby is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Sue Stormant of Ocala, FL and her son, Roger Dean Rehfeldt of Tavares, FL. She is also survived by stepdaughter, Virginia L. York of Atlanta, MO and stepson, John Frank Pelot IV of Leesburg, FL. She has 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and spouse, Frank Pelot. The Memorial Service will be on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 1pm at the Belleview United Methodist Church, Belleview.
