Obituary of Roberta "Chub" Wheeler

Roberta Wheeler, 87, of The Villages, Florida passed away on October 23, 2023.

Roberta was born in Baltimore, Maryland to James E. And Mildred L. Williams on July 26, 1936.  Her career as a Register Nurse was the most rewarding.  She cared deeply for everyone she had the honor of caring for as well as their families.  Later, as retirement was calling, Roberta and her husband moved to The Villages.  She spent several years as a volunteer in the emergency room at the villages hospital and also volunteered at Marion County Hospice.

Roberta is preceded in death by her Husband, Gilbert Wheeler, her sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Holthous, Katherine Foulke and Jimmie Williams.

Roberta is survived by her four children, Bobbi Ruben, Patricia Scheible, Frannie Wheeler and son Edward Wheeler. Her five grandchildren, Daphne Collins, Michael Ramsey, Troy Ramsey, Sara Hodges, Trey McMillan, and three great grandchildren, Logan Collins, McKenna Chesser and Miles Hodges. As well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday October 26th from 4 to 6 PM at Hiers-Baxley Life Event Center 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages Florida 32162

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 27th at 10:00 AM at St. Mark’s The Evangelist Catholic Church.

The family of Roberta Wheeler wish to extend our sincere thanks to the hospice nurses who cared for our mother, Michelle, Camille, Shannon and all the CNA’s at Cornerstone Hospice, you are all dedicated Angels sent by God and our family is so very grateful.
