Obituary of Marjorie Emma Driggers

Marjorie Emma Driggers, an Ocalan native, was born on January 29, 1929, and passed away on September 13, 2023, in the care of Hospice of Marion County. She was 94 years old.

Mrs. Driggers was a graduate of Ocala High School, Class of 48, and became a member of First Baptist Church of Ocala in 1950. She married Dan Driggers, a WW II Combat Marine Veteran in 1948, and they were happily married for 64 years.  As a homemaker, Mrs. Driggers enjoyed being a stay-at-home wife and mother, music, and dancing. She loved working in her yard full of flowers, and she had her picture in the Ocala Star Banner with her prized pink azaleas once. She enjoyed doing puzzles in her sitting time and sharing stories with her family and friends of old times. She guarded her time to be able to watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She was full of humor, sometimes with a serious note, yet always loving and concerned for others.

She loved collecting Precious Moments figurines. In her later years, when she became acquainted with “Home Instead,” she made new friends with her caregivers and developed a new love for orchids.

Mrs. Driggers was proceeded in death by her parents, Raymond and Edith Williams, husband Charles Daniel Driggers, Sr., and younger son Ray Driggers.

She is survived by one son Charles Daniel (Dan) and Beverly Driggers, Valrico, Florida and daughter-in-law Martha Driggers, Ocala, Florida. Her grandchildren are Sherry Longbottom, Odessa, Florida, Christina Lametto, Valrico, Florida, Colby Driggers, Brooksville, Florida, and Jessie Driggers, Ocala, Florida.
