Obituary of Shirley Florence Allen-Stocking

Shirley F Allen-Stocking 1/19/1935-10/5/2023

Shirley Allen-Stocking 88, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2023 in Ocala Florida. She was born in Rochester, NY and graduated from RIT with an associate’s degree in business.

Shirley’s love for horses began when she was 2. She traveled the country winning multiple World Championship Appaloosa Shows. She enjoyed riding the Chief Joseph trail in Idaho and the Florida Greenway Land Bridge. In June of 1991, Shirley was featured on the cover of the Appaloosa Journal. Shirley not only had a love for horses she also had a love for Watusis. She was an active member of the Triple Cross Church in Micanopy and also attended the Stomp Barn where you could find her dancing to the Jayc Harold Band with her husband Duane.

Shirley was preceded by parents Ed (Grace) Stein, and Jay Stocking. She is survived by her husband Duane and her dog Bella, her son, Steve (Joelle) Stocking, Grandchildren Casey (Cliff) Stocking-Roggen and Jesse (Jenn) Stocking, and several great grandchildren of Corfu, NY.

A memorial service and viewing will be held at Heirs-Baxley Funeral Home at 910 E. Silver Springs BLVD, Ocala, FL on October 15,2023 from 3pm until 6pm.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Marion County or Triple Cross Church in Micanopy.
