Obituary of Doris Jean Sharpe Ferguson

Doris Jean Sharpe Ferguson, (DJ) was born on May 20, 1933, in Montgomery, Alabama she went to heaven in the arms of Jesus on September 30, 2023.

DJ moved to Ocala in 1950 and was believed to be the oldest current member of First Baptist Church of Ocala. She was a legal secretary until her retirement in the early 80's and was an active member of D.A.R., U.D.C. and Pilot Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Cecil Ferguson, parents, Leslie and Julia Sharpe. Sisters, Virginia Gioiello (John), Joyce Pulley (Thurston), brothers, Lloyd Sharpe, and Robert Sharpe (Jean).

She is survived by a stepson, Jim Ferguson (Frances), and family. Brother, Leslie Sharpe Jr (Brenda0, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 1:00 pm with a visitation one hour prior at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, Florida with burial to follow at Highland Memorial Park.
