Obituary of Betty Sue Varnadoe

Betty Sue Morse Varnadoe, 83, of Ocala, Florida passed away at her home surrounded by family on Friday, September 22, 2023. She was born in Palatka, Florida on April 21, 1940 to the late Kelsey and Ilean Morse. In 1960, she married the love of her life, Marion C. Varnadoe and together they moved to Ocala in 1961. Throughout her life she worked at Druid Hills Pharmacy (owned and operated by the Varnadoe Family), Bittings Pharmacy and The Centers. She was avid Gator Fan, loved Elvis Presley and was devoted to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Marion Varnadoe, her parents Kelsey and Ilean Morse, her sister Edith Tipton and many sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws.

Betty is survived by her 2 daughters, Peggy (Tim) Carney, Marneile (Kevin) Kuckleburg, 2 sons, Bruce (Patti) Varnadoe, Frank (Terri) Varnadoe; 9 grandchildren, Justin (Mindy) Yancey, Chris (Alora) Yancey, Marshall (Kristie) Varnadoe, Bobby (Kabeel) Carney, Kelsey (Zach) Garafola, Kristen Carney, Trey (Ellena) Varnadoe, Missy Varnadoe, and Tucker (Kayla) Varnadoe; 10 great-grandchildren, sister-in law Merle Varnadoe, aunt Joyce Laseter and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

A funeral service for Betty will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home (910 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL 34470) on Saturday, September 30^th at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. at Good Shepard Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held prior on Friday, September 29^th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tim Tebow Foundation.
