Obituary of Joan A. Mongeluzzo

Joan A. Mongeluzzo, 78 of Ocala, FL passed away at her home on September 9, 2023 with her family by her side. Joan was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to this area in 1984, Joan retired from the Marion County School Board as a Cafeteria Manager, she is a member of the Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church, Red Hat Society of Ocala, volunteered at the elementary school in the Villages and enjoyed traveling on cruises. Joan is preceded in death by her daughter Danielle Casalaspro

She is survived by her husband of 29 years Michael Mongeluzzo of Ocala, FL. Devoted mother of son Pasquale (Pat) and wife Elizabeth Casalaspro of Lady Lake, FL, daughter Debra Cullen of Lady Lake, FL,  son Michael Mongeluzzo and wife Michelle of Ocala, Fl,  and daughter Tara Horne and husband Eric of NY, Sister Anita Catalanotto of Ocala, FL and 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.

The family will be having calling hours on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Homes, 910 E Silver Springs Blvd, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 6:00pm to 8:00 pm with the Celebration Funeral Mass at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church on Saturday, September 16^th at 10:00 am with the burial to follow at Highland Memorial Park.
