Obituary of Dorothy Rivers Tucker

Dorothy Rivers Tucker passed away on Saturday, September 2 at Grace Davis Hall Hospice House in Ocala after a long battle with cancer.  She was born March 10, 1940 in Gaffney, South Carolina to parents Norman Rivers (d. 1977) and Dorothy Ross Rivers (d. 1989).  She moved to Ocala in 1949 with her parents and brother, Norman Rivers, Jr. (d. 2001), and graduated from Ocala High School in 1958.  She later attended Bernaue University in Gainesville, GA before moving to Charlotte, NC to work for the Recreations Department.  In 1963 she married Arthur Bernard Tucker (d. 2010) of Charlotte and they returned to Ocala in 1965 to be near her family.  She loved crafts, animals, and her friends and family as well as traveling in her retirement.  She is survived by her son Arthur Edward Tucker, daughter-in-law Cindy Darby Tucker, niece Helen Rivers McGee and five other nieces and nephews.  A private memorial service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Grace Davis Hall Hospice House.
