Obituary of Katherine N. Davidson
Katherine N. Davidson, 68, High Springs, Florida
Katherine (Bailey) Davidson was unexpectedly called home in the midst of friends and family to our Lord and Savior on July 12, 2023.
Our beloved Kathy was born on December 14, 1954 to Mary Ann and John Bailey of St. Albans, VT. She was a graduate of Brockton High School, Brockton, MA. She is survived by her husband James, her daughter Kristin and husband Kevin Teves of Assonet, MA, son Bo Davidson and wife Garin of High Springs, FL, and sisters Mary House and Patricia Adomaitis both of Raynham, MA, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
She lived most of her life in Raynham, MA alongside her cherished husband of over 47 years, James Davidson. Together they raised their two children. Ms. Kathy was a proud and devoted member of Teamsters Local Union 25, Boston, MA for over 25 years. She was privileged to serve on the Local 25 Women’s Committee where she advocated for her fellow sisters and worked on numerous charitable causes such as the annual Light up the Night Gala for Autism. During her career she served as a driver for both Airborne Express and then DHL. She finished her career as a chauffeur to the stars with the Local 25 Movie Division having worked on several Hollywood blockbusters such as The Town, The Equalizer, The Finest Hours, Labor Day, R.I.P.D., and The Sea of Trees. Her extensive knowledge of every shortcut from idyllic Cape Cod, bustling Boston, to the peaceful Berkshires served her well. Her quiet professionalism, no nonsense demeanor, and unwavering work ethic was widely respected by her co-workers, clients, and illustrious passengers.
In her spare time, Kathy took every opportunity to comb the beach for hours hoping for the perfect seashell. She was an avid gardener who was always excited to showcase her flower beds bursting with color and life. She enjoyed decorating her home to delight and honor all who lived there or popped in for a visit. Her efforts set the perfect scene for every holiday, birthday, and change of season. Her delicate, artistic touch spread beauty down to the finest detail that will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a dedicated hostess that maintained an endless supply of hot coffee, Oreo cookies, ice cream, and Coke Zero for all her friends and family.
However, Kathy considered her grandchildren Blaize Teves, Laule’a Davidson, Alianna Teves, and Nathaniel Teves to be her most valuable possessions, and her role as Granny to be her most precious. She took every opportunity to make a call, send a note, or be the first to celebrate their achievements. She was always on standby to help them meet any challenge. It is doubtful that any children ever received so many kisses or have been loved so much. Granny would move mountains to make sure that her family felt loved and were happy.
Kathy enjoyed her retirement in High Springs, FL alongside her husband Jimmy and her next door neighbors Bo, Garin, and granddaughter Laule’a. Kathy spent her days tending her home, dancing in the kitchen to her favorite Elvis classics, perfecting her flowers, and caring for Laule’a in constant loving companionship with Jimmy. Her church family will miss her fellowship and genuine spirit.
Granny will be remembered as the definition of pure love. Her attention to the smallest detail and strong desire to make everyone happy and feel loved permeated every minute of her life. A true friend with the best advice and always just a phone call away. She was the most beautiful woman inside and out with a smile that could light up the dark.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 22297 SW SR 47, Fort White, FL 32038 on Friday, July 21st at 6pm. Kathy will be laid to rest at Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Meehan, MS at 4pm on Saturday, July 22nd.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please consider an in kind donation to the American Heart Association. https://www.heart.org/donate or the Local 25 Women’s Committee. Donations can be sent to Teamsters Joint Council 10 Women’s Committee, Attention Katie McDonald, 544 Main Street, Boston, MA 02129.
